About Our Child Care Facility

Kiddie Farms CDC Inc. was founded in 1987 by Mrs. Gloria Asbury-Varner. A native Charlottean, she was educated in the Char-Meck School System. After graduating, she attended NC Central University, where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Consumer Science and graduate coursework in Family Counseling.

Kiddie Farms was founded out of a personal need for good, quality childcare and want to make a difference in the lives of young children by preparing them to be ready to enter

Her love for children, passion for learning, and years of experience serves as a solid foundation in which to train children to be ready emotionally, socially, spiritually, and physically for the next stage of their life.

Our Mission

It is the mission of Kiddie Farms CDC Inc. to provide high-quality care and education for the children entrusted to us while providing support to the family in a neighborhood-based program. We seek to create a cooperative effort among family members, staff, neighbors, and volunteers, thus, serving as a catalyst for change in the community.

Our Philosophy

  • We believe that each child is a unique individual that needs friends of his/her own age and with whom he/she can communicate.
  • We believe that our staff promotes a positive learning environment for all children by giving them love, guidance, and encouragement.
  • We believe children must have a sense of responsibility and independence while experiencing real-life challenges.
  • We believe the education of our staff enhances the learning process for all children.
  • We provide every opportunity for our teacher's growth professionally. This includes continuing education, various resources, and freedom to bring life to learning.
  • We believe that communication between parents and teachers is essential for developing a positive relationship.
