Kiddie Farms Child Development Center, Inc. was founded by Wendell and Gloria Varner in 1987. Mrs. Gloria Asbury Varner, a native Charlottean, was educated in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System. After graduating from West Charlotte High School, she attended NC Central University where she obtained a BS Degree in Family and Consumer Science and graduate courses in Family Counseling. Mr. Wendell Varner was educated in the Charleston County School System in Charleston, SC. He received a BS Degree in Botany from SC State University.
The Varner’s have been married for 49 years. They are the proud parents of two children and five grandchildren. Their love for children, passion for learning, and years of experience serves as a solid foundation in which to train children for the next stage of their lives emotionally, socially, spiritually, and physically.

Kiddie Farms Child Development Center was founded out of a personal need for quality childcare and wanting to make a difference in the lives of young children, by preparing them for school and beyond. It has been a trusted part of the Charlotte community and surrounding areas since 1987, dedicated to nurturing the growth and development of young minds for over 35 years. Our mission is to create a safe and enriching environment where children can learn and thrive through our unique farm-themed approach.
